We don’t do much toys right now but the few we use are usually teething toys for hand eye coordination and grip. He loves playing with muslins so just create games for their development using sensory items with what you have as they don’t need much for stimulation at this age.
My four month old doesn’t really play as such. If I show him a toy he will grab it and put it straight into his mouth. Maybe hold onto it for a minute then just drop it 😂xx
My 4 month old is obsessed with toys and pretty much always needs to be holding/playing one of them. It surprised me because none of my other kids were ever that interested in them until 6+months. However she isn't interested in screens/TV at all (probably a good thing lol) whereas my others were from very young. X
My little boy likes his captain calamari and hanging cow toy and that is all to be honest. He much prefers playing with me or his dad
My little girl has a fisher price piano play mat and I changed the toys on it for longer ones so she could reach. She loves it, plays on it for 2 hrs at a time - even cries to be put on it 🤣 she kicks it, rolls around and some how manages to do a 360° turn on it. She pulls the toys, bites them and yanks them and uses them to move. I have put mamas and papas, bright starts and lamaze toys on it it has a few hooks on the play matt too, so I have some black&white soft books attached too. It's loud, colourful and too much but she loves it!!! The more bonkers the better
Mine shows more interest in things she can put in Her mouth, so we have key tethers, a normal bunny one, I can’t remember ways it’s called, but it makes a crinkle sound and has little tabs on the side, and many teddies, and one rattle toy she also has a musical kick mat, so it’s a Matt that has like a piano at the bottom that she can kick and play music with, and I let her ‘play’ with her bottles, it’s teaching her hand eye coordination, she’s getting better and finding her mouth with the teat and trying to drink, she just needs to learn to lift the bottle
He shows mild interest in toys. He’ll look at rattles for a minute if that, then get bored. He can’t hold it himself yet without dropping it or hitting himself in the face. He does have a toy though that is very thin and has these kind of rattling beads on it, so he can hold it easily himself. He likes that one. All in all though he likes being spoken to and looking around more than toys. He also isn’t swiping at toys yet.
We've mainly got rattles. She learning to hold and shake it atm. She still drops it regularly but she's getting there. We've also got some teething bits which she loves to suck on. Apparently soft books are supposed to be good too, as they'll have different textures and sounds
