baby isn’t clapping yet?

is anyone else’s baby not clapping yet? my son doesn’t clap and doesn’t have his pincer grasp down yet. he hits all his other milestones on time, he crawls, he pulls to stand, he stands on his own, he cruises, he has said a few words, he’s such a happy healthy baby but it just doesn’t seem like he wants to use his hands unless it’s to play, pet the dog, eat or hit things 😂🤦🏼‍♀️. any advice or anyone dealing with the same thing?

My daughter isn't clapping yet or saying words yet. But she's walking and playing all the time. All babies develop at their own pace.

My boy is the same. He watches me clap at him all the time trying to teach him and just looks at me like I’m whacky 😂

Are you clapping to demonstrate it to him also give him small stuff to use his pincher fingers with.

@Abigayle we do blw so he gets all his food cut up because he’s more of an advanced eater so he’s practicing it everyday but he still chooses to use his palm to feed himself lol

my baby just started crawling and clapping fully and he still can’t like stand up on his own he can sometimes but not frequently

I recommend miss Rachel in you tube for clapping 👏

Clapping is the ONLY thing my son doesn't do yet. He speaks, he can pick up cheerios, he gives hi fives, he waves… but doesn't clap 🤦🏾‍♀️ he loves when I clap. I've been doing it since he was born. I even have a clapping song (which he LOVES).

@Josephine see mine isn’t doing much with his hands that’s why i was concerned unless there’s food in front of him then he uses them 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

@Angy he watches me rachel all the time and loves her!! is there a specific video you recommend?

@Riley are you hovering to see if your LO will do those things? I found out yesterday that if I show him what to do and ignore him he will actually do it. Yesterday I was showing him how to put the ball in the hole. I've been trying to get him to do this for a few months. Well, he did it yesterday and I got excited and started clapping and saying “yayy” after that he stopped doing it. My husband and I started talking, taking my attention away from him, and all of a sudden he started doing it consistently. So maybe pretend you're not paying attention. Some babies are funny like that.

My son will do it kinda but he started doing it o think cause of a play thing we go to weekly and we always clap in there and sing a song and I help him clap. He likes when I do it for him 😂 but every once in awhile he does it but I just don’t think he’s intrested in doing it more even if he does know how.

I know it’s dumb but I did a bring it on marathon and we clapped when they clapped. Mostly because I thought it was cute to have “cheer” along. That’s somehow what got her clapping 🤷🏼‍♀️ we sang clapping songs, she watched me clap, saying yay and clapping. Now she claps on her own and when we say yay!!!! I figure they will pick things up in their own time.

@Josephine i will try this i usually sit in his playpen with him and try to teach him
