I think this is normal. Personally I’ve never met one of these toddlers that can count to 10 and say 89 words at this age.. You’re doing everything right, it’ll come in time xx
Song is so overlooked. It's basically play for them and that's the BEST way to have toddlers and children learn. However 6 words is within the norm for this age. You'll be surprised in the next few weeks the language explosion that tends to happen
Personally I've witnessed a great development in miss rachel videos and nursery rhymes. We are dual language home and I mainly speak in native Arabic at home and I find home picking English from these videos more than arabic. He is 19 months now and is communicating very well because of that. Try it ana basically they pick up anything from repeating so if you repeated counting numbers every day like 3 times a day he will know them by heart.
That is plenty like others have said. Some kids have more words, some kids have less and both spectrums are normal.

That’s brilliant tbh. Just continue to be a broken record and repeat, repeat, repeat. Repeat every damn word all day long lmao. One day you’ll see your small human saying ALL the things you’ve been saying do stick, it just takes time for it to process. You’re doing good, just keep talking and most importantly keep singing! Music sticks better!
I have from the moment she’s been born explained and described what we’re doing and in steps it might sound stupid but I would be like ok we’re changing your nappy, where’s your nappy and literally everything we do I explain what we’re doing and she’s 17 month and said over 250 words, every single kid is different one might say heaps of words and the other might not and it’s totally fine as long as they’re are saying some there’s no concern, don’t be hard on yourself about it she’s doing great🤍
That is plenty of words for an 18 month old. Their speech doesn't usually kick in properly until after they turn 2, so you've got a little while until you need to worry just yet 😉
