I think this happened to us last night. She just started screaming, like a blood curdling scream at 9pm. I thought something was seriously wrong but couldn’t see anything on the monitor. I tried verbal reassurance, stroking her head then picking her up for a cuddle. When that didn’t work, I tried to reset her by turning on the light and taking her out of her sleeping bag. She didn’t calm until I fed her then started screaming again when I put her back in the cot. She went to sleep within a few mins but it was really scary. It didn’t sound anything like her usual wake for a feed and she would always turn over and go straight back to sleep
It’s so scary isn’t it! She hasn’t had anymore but I’m keeping an eye. I’ve noticed the nights she’s had them she doesn’t go down for bed as easy…. Whether that’s because she’s overtired… I don’t know
Mine had it twice in the last months and I was worried sick. She “woke up” scared, sat down, eyes open and all and started yelling as if a monster was in the room. I turned on the lights and comforted her until she fully woke up. Don’t try to wake her up, just wait it out. So scary to see them like that but I did research and it said no screen time before bed and they get night terrors when they have been awake for a long time during the day. We established a routine and she hasn’t had a night terror since.
