The strongest people are the ones who keep getting up after they fall What's the worse that could happen? They say no? Then that's fine, their loss, onto the next one! You won't know until you try You've got this Go out and smash it ❤️
You will be amazing. You have to believe in yourself, Self doubt is normal but focus on what you want and remember that if at first you don’t succeed, it’s not the end of the world. Hopefully that takes the pressure off, Be prepared and leave the rest up to fate.
@Emma, I'm not worried about them saying no. That would be a great relief, actually. My fear is that they say yes. Due to my trauma, I'm struggling with the idea of working again, particularly in my field.
@Jessica, my feelings aren't about not succeeding. They are about actually being offered the job.
Even better! If they say yes then YOU have full control. You can control the situation. You can be the one who turns them down. Use it as a confidence boost, they need and want you but you don't need them
Maybe you need to take some healing time and hopefully you have therapy to help you resolve these issues. You won’t know unless you give it a go, like Emma said you are in control. If it becomes too much you can always leave the job
Say you got Covid and ask to reschedule? It sounds like you may have PTSD possibly? Take care of your emotional self, sounds like you’ve been through a lot. It’s okay to take time for you (probably necessary it sounds like) before getting up again. And if this field of work is kinda scary now, it’s ok to switch into something else. It’s never too late to start something new.
@Emma well said !
What type of job if you don’t mind me asking? I would look into counselling to work through issues you had. Counsellors are strictly confidential except in certain cases which they will go over with you prior to starting.
Your old jobs and your next one are not connected. The people are all new and you can have a fresh start. The only way your past trauma comes into a new situation is through you. Leave it at the door, and your new job can become a safe place where you make new, positive memories and find fulfillment through doing your best work.
@Bonny this could be totally not relevant for someone working in the medical field.
Is therapy an option for you? Trauma is real. It’s hard to move forward sometimes when your entire brain and body are in stress and survival mode. If it’s like nightmares/flashbacks-level trauma, I’ve heard excellent things about EMDR therapy. Sending love. I’m so sorry you were abused/mistreated. Having a lawsuit, feeling the effects of trauma, and looking for work at the same time? That is a lot on one person.
@lauren, childcare. I have a therapist, but my next appointment isn't until December.
@Bonny, that's what I've tried to do each time I get a new job, but the treatment continues. In different ways and to different degrees but it's there. At this point, though, I can't just pretend my trauma isn't there.

It would be good to take a break to process your feelings. The interviewer will sense your fear and this may work against you. PTSD can also happen after difficult situations at work. Have you seen a psychotherapist? This can help you overcome it and also prove the impact it had on you.
@𝔾𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖, I have a therapist and have spoken to her but don't have another appointment until December.
