I potty trained my son at almost 3.5 and it took us 2-3 weeks .
We potty trained our son around 3 years 2 months and it took 3 days.
My boy is currently 15 (nearly 16) months and we have started potty training as showed all the signs… 1 week in had 2 accidents so I think it all depends on the child
i’ve toilet trained my now 2 year old he was about 22 months when i started and we was having no accidents after about 10 days, i’d say it’s best to let them run round with no nappy and they will soon feel the sensations of needing the toilet, also sticker charts were a win for us!
Depends on the method you use and how committed you are to getting out of diapers/pull ups. Can take months if you're casual about it, but can be as fast as 2-3 days if you're intense about it
I potty trained my son just shy of 2.5 and he got it really quickly. We only stayed home for 1.5 days. He had a few accidents here and there after that, of course. I haven’t potty trained a girl yet so have no comparison.
I potty trained my son at 21 months. We just took the nappy off and never put one back on. I had a potty very accessible to him, and sat him on it every time he started to wee. Day 1 every wee went on the carpet, by day 2 he was maybe half half, but starting to be able to recognise the sensation/wee when I put him on the potty, by the end of day 3 most wees/poos were on the potty. For a few weeks I reminded him to go regularly, which he did with only rare accidents. He’s 2 and a half now and will just take himself off to the toilet (he has a step he can access himself) and go without even telling me
My girls trained at 18m and 21m. My boy, trained at 2y3m so he trained later than my girls did, as I waited for summer when he can run around in undies and not be cold. But when we did he trained day in a week and nights a week later, I go fully diaper free for a week inc naps and then when he’s tackled that I jump to nights, I’m pretty intense about my training.
Potty training is a learned skill plus a behavior so idk if anyone has noticed little girls tend to listen up as soon as they are given an instruction while little boys aren't as quick to listen. I think that is the main difference because anatomically a boy has slightly longer to hold his pee. But my eldest was potty trained at 20 months but we started at 15, first time for us so I think that's why it took a few months. My youngest is nearly 14 months and has been out of diapers for about a month and a half and this past week has had no pee accidents so it has taken him about a month. I did elimination communication with them both so it is a bit different usually compared to if you wait or have your kids in disposable diapers full time. But I think for me everything has taken longer with my first but that's because we have to learn along with him and he doesn't have an example to follow, my second can see his big brother doing everything and picks it all up so quickly.
Interesting! Thanks, everyone.Helpful! Glad I am not alone here!
Boys take longer to control their bladder than girls do. I potty trained my son 4 months after he turned 3 and it took one week
