@Hen it’s awful isn’t it. I hate going anywhere that involves the car atm!
I’m a FTM so no idea if I’ve just got lucky, or if it’s something we do; but as I put my LO (12 weeks) in the seat I do a lot of “oooh” sounds which he likes generally and basically tell him “we love the car seat, we love adventures” in a sing-song tone (basically so it sounds super exciting and positive). I also always put him in the seat whilst it’s in the car; and then as soon as he’s in the seat try start driving as quick as possible because he enjoys motion. If I leave him sitting a while he gets upset.
@Aimee same!!! I dread it if it’s just us and I can’t sit in the back with her 😭
@Hen even if I can sit in the back she still screams! Bloody hideous. Hope it gets better for you soon x
@Megan thanks for replying. Yes my first was not like this. We used the car to get him to sleep. So this is absolutely new to me 😂🫠.
@Aimee I literally don’t understand people that put their babies in the car to make them fall asleep!!! Mine literally screams the minute she’s in the seat 🤣🤣🤣
@Aimee just seen this reply 🤣🤣🤣
@Hen 😂😂😂 honestly I am like wtf is going on!!!!!
yep,we are in the same boat this time amd our first one would fall asleep the minute his head landed in the car seat.shocking!
Our little girl is awful in the car unless she's asleep. Just hoping it will get better with age.
Same here and like others my first loved the car/ still does! It’s so stressful driving anywhere with just me and her. They’re all so different, just hoping she grows out of it sooner rather than later.
Mine baby girl is the same… just hates!!! She’s 9 weeks! I hate going out in the car with her 🥲 It’s looks like a baby girl problem! All the comments here are girls 😆
I have seen so many of these posts and I'm with you! My 11 week old screamed during every car journey for weeks. These are the things I have done which could have helped. He cries much less now - 1. Changed the car seat - I had a rubbish car seat that came with a travel system and he was really chin to chest - he seems happier in our Avionaut Cosmo now 2. Two sessions with a cranial osteopath 3. Changed his formula to Hipp Organic - he was having problems with silent reflux I think 4. Play him white noise if I know he is tired (he really struggles to self soothe and daytime naps at home are always contact naps so I think he gets extra screamy when he's tired and can't be in my arms) Not sure whether any of these would be useful for you but these are just our experience. I think they will eventually grow out of it but it's so tough for us parents!
My little girl gets restless quite quickly also but I’ve found music helps massively!! I highly recommend Christina Perri and songs for pixie album. Great songs made to sound like lullabies which sooth baby and me!!!!

This was mine until I bought a better car seat x
@Lauren we got this, thanks for the recommendation!!! And can confirm it has worked the first time. Do not know if it will continue but it’s been nice being in the car without a screaming baby!!!
@Aimee Can I ask where you have attached it to in the car?
@Isabella we had to attach to the middle head rest but around the metal bits? If that makes sense. I’ll try and remember to take a pic tomorrow for you!x
Following because I have the same issue!!! Really hope she’s grows out of it 😢
