Travelling✈️

Any tips for travelling with a 4 month old ? I'm nervous about the plane and if she will settle, the time difference etc etc. she really likes her routines and I'm worried about how she'll be on the plane... Also the sun? I know they can't have suncream until after 6 months but I have swimming costumes that are UV protected, sun hats etc, any other tips? Any tips at all for travelling with a baby will be appreciated!

She's also breastfed so that'll be easier anyways but I hear it helps on planes with ear popping?

Oh just in case you miss a spot with the sunscreen, Childs Farm do a fantastic aftersun for babies. It’s always good to be prepared. Also, for the plane noise you can get baby ear defenders which I use for all sorts of things (will also be handy for fireworks later in the year)

She's so cute x

Awh she’s so cute!! Jealous you can put lil bows in her hair 🥺🥺 For day time naps we had a snooze shade and rockit! They were fab and it meant we could both have a sunbathe 😊 also the momcozy fan from Amazon was sooo good battery lasted ages and we had it pretty much constantly on when out! For the flight there we fed on takeoff and landing but the way back she just had a dummy and slept through. Luckily our flights were right on feeding/nap times! We went to Turkey but didn’t feel any effects of the time difference we just went with the flow really with naps, easier to stick with what Freya wanted than change! We took boots baby suncream for her face and feet for whilst in the pool she was 3 months at the time, we just patch tested it before we went.

I took my June baby when they were 10 weeks old. It's 1000% easier than a toddler or young child. It was super hot when we went but he managed really well. Some airlines will try & tell you not to breastfeed on take off and landing as the baby needs to be sat facing forward on your lap. I say just do it anyway 😂 Also, depending on the country and the temp, I'd recommend buying a small bucket (like a sandcastle one) and a flannel. It was about 36 when we went and it was useful to get some pool water and cool him down with the wet flannel every so often x

It is recommended to feed during take off for ears popping but don't panic too much if it doesn't fit your schedule. We were delayed so baby wasn't hungry when we took off but she managed fine with a dummy and fell asleep! A baby carrier is pretty handy for airport and boarding the plane. And once you're there I found my baby wanted to breadt feed way more frequently because of the heat. She was doing little and often!

We just got back from lanzarote!! I fed baby as soon as we got on the plane so she was asleep for take off - flight there she slept for about 2.5 hours then we just entertained her, I wondered round the plane, my partner took her! She was happy enough! The flight back she slept the entire time (4 hr flight) With regards to the Sun, when we were out I made sure she was covered so I used the all in one UV swimming costume and I did put a bit of suncream on her feet (I weighed up the pros and cons and I personally felt it would have been worse if she got sunburnt)! I tried to keep her in the shade as much as possible which did mean I didn’t get to sunbathe much but I didn’t mind! Kept her hat on all the time! She was fine and had a great time! I was baby wearing a lot (we also have a toddler so this made it easier) and I would have a Muslin covering her legs!

Thankyou so much for the advice! I may try the Childs farm suncream just incase. She just has the most sensitive skin and suffered extreamly bad baby acne for her first Month (really horrific her whole face as covered and bright red) I do have sun hats and a swimming costume that's up protected and long. Will defo look into the sunshade! I have a rechargeable fan too for the pram so that's defo a must! Xx

@Debbie is there a sun screen you recommend for them?

Omg! The amount of hair 😍

Following as travelling next week !

Recently went on a 4hr flight with my 4MO son and he slept the whole flight there and back. I was so anxious but don’t other-think it ! I recommend having a pillow for them to lay on on your lap It’s crazy how much they adapt whilst being abroad.
