My daughter is also 9 , we got a little book about puberty for girls on Amazon , I bought teen pads and pack her a little bag for her book bag and organized some in her bathroom. I also let her watch me change my pads , wrap them up and properly dispose.
Sometimes girls hit puberty earlier than others and they can start as early as nine years old. I would avoid starting out with tampons because younger girls tend to not change them as often and that could lead to infections. I’m also personally not a fan of them, especially for younger girls. I would say just buy some teen pads and have her maybe keep a couple in her backpack just in case. That’s what I do for my almost 12 1/2 year-old, but she hasn’t hit that stage yet.
Same here, I’m not ready, my daughter is also 9 and hair is also growing in those places, I’m assuming that is an indicator :( Which book would you recommend?
I started my period when I was 8 during class and didn't even know it until recess when a classmate come up to me with their jacket and told me they think I shat myself. Nope. Period blood. I was so embarrassed. My daughter is 9. She has recently had some cramp like feelings. I have taught her how to prepare and do everything needed just in case it does happen while she is at school. She has an emergency kit in her backpack at all times because early puberty is hereditary in my family. I didnt know. My mom never taught or told me anything. Just make sure she knows the signs and symptoms to look out for and make sure she has stuff either on her or in the nurses office for her.
I have taught my daughter about periods since she could walk and follow me into the bathroom. She knows how to use pads and tampons. Well the process rather. Her bonus mom (her dad's girlfriend of 8 years they'll never marry) she is aware too. She is prepared. Her grandma has been over prepared for it. Cuz she's trying to get my daughter to wear pads every day. Lol.
Her sweat stinks is awful too. I feel bad because she's super active. And becomes less active when she starts to sweat and smell herself. She gets it from me. I have a weird sulfuric smell when I sweat. No one has figured out why.
I started when I was 11. But began growing in areas way before then. I would recommend pads, and go from there. There are a lot of options these days that we didn't have.
I know the feeling. My daughter is 10, and I'm so not ready 😣. But I say start with pads, try to go over what to expect so she won't be alarmed.
