Potty training

Anyone else still struggling with potty training? I first tried over Easter, and then repeatedly over the summer, then took a break as he was starting preschool and thought it would be too much for him. Now it’s half term we’re pushing it again but he’s so resistant. He has a fear of letting it go and can go without a nappy and hold it for hours but will not go on the toilet. Obviously I can’t leave him like that because it could just cause other problems so he ends up in a nappy. It’s exhausting.

Yes, I am. I'm on my third attempt. I am really happy for everyone who's managed it on here and friends but equally disheartened when it's not working for us. I'm sure you feel.the same? My daughter took a while but not as bad as my son is being. It is soul destroying and really hard. Having said that, I have had two successes the past two days which I never had before. I know it's only 2 but that's much better than previously. I am finding underwear and trousers to be be more successful than bear bum. He didn't really understood that he'd gone previously but now he does and struggles to walk when his pants and trousers are wet so he actually cares. I don't know which method/s you've tried? Feel free to DM me if you want to compare notes more.

I'm exactly the same. Easter, then over the summer and now again this week with the break from preschool. We're definitely seeing some progress, but she still isn't asking to go (if we put her on the loo now she will often go wee though). Trying to look at the positives, but I agree it is so exhausting!

Mine has now developed what I think is the flu so that’s potty training out for this week.
