Having a proud mummy moment 🥲

I’m biggest fear has always been when to potty train and how to potty train. I have a very stubborn toddler who only likes to do things her way and likes her routine. As it was half-term we decided to take the plunge and potty train her this week and we have just completed day 1 and she took it like a champ. We had 2 accidents but after a few potty songs and she walked herself to get potty and did a wee on her own. 🥲 I knew she haven’t had her morning poop so I was anxiously waiting for her to hide or something when she needed to poop but as I was getting her snacks ready, I watched her quietly walk herself to the potty and just sat there. So I asked if she was okay and if she needed help from mummy and she said “no” so I just kept an eye on her from a distance and when she was done, she just said “ mummy poop” and pointed at the potty so I quickly rush over and helped her clean up. We only had one accident in the afternoon but I’m so proud of both myself and her. I kept myself up all night worrying about every details of this whole potty training and we made it through day one! 🥲🥲

Well done to you and her!! I’m absolutely terrified of potty training. Nursery don’t think she’s ready anyway, and we don’t either so we have a bit of time 🫣

@Omolade thank you! It’s a hard one to figure out when to start to be honest . I didn’t think she was ready and thought maybe we had another year but she started pulling her nappy off 2 weeks ago whenever she wee so my husband thought we would give a try. I’m still very terrified of when we need to leave the house! 🥲 Honestly when you guys are ready, my best advice would be just roll with it, you’re both in this together. X

Wow amazing !! How did u do it ? Any tips ? Does she pull down her own panties ? I’m struggle with mine with this topic

@Lily we started with the 3 day method and now on day 4/5. She’s really good at going to the potty on her own at home but I can’t say the same thing about when we are out and about. We currently let her walk around the house without any pants or underwear on and she likes to be able to take herself to the potty without any help so we really struggle with when we are out and she needs a potty. We are trying to introduce the pants but she’d would run to the potty but not pull her pants down so I’m still having to quickly run over when I see her sit on the potty with her pants. It’s a tough one at the moment especially when we need to go out but overall she’s done really well. It’s taken a lot of practice and praise. Xx
