Hey I did exactly the same for my second baby, had an elective due to mental health. They’ll probably just go through the procedure with you, what it involves, recovery, risks etc. They might ask you why you’ve chosen to have a c section but it is your choice and unless there is a medical reason not to they won’t say no. They’ll probably look through your pregnancy notes so far and see if there is anything that will need to be considered for during your section. Electives are normally booked for around 39 weeks so you’ve got a little bit longer to go still 😊. Hope this helps.
Hello, congratulations. Please don't ever feel you need to justify choosing a C section 😍 Secondly, elected c sections can be truly beautiful. My top tips to consider are: 1. Wear your gown backwards to allow for immediate skin to skin 2. Go through your preferences such as when you want the cord cut, whether you intend to breastfeed, lighting, 3. You can still have music, balms to help you feel calm and relaxed 4. Consider if you want to see what's happening or not and choose your screen to be either transparent or opaque There's loads more but these are probably my top tips to help with creating a beautifully calm c section xx Good luck xx
I had a this over the phone when I was 31 weeks. She was a lovely lady that just read my notes then went over all the options and possibilities. At the end she concluded health wise I could have both options (where I said what I preferred) she then added it to my notes but didn’t give me a date as it was still too soon. She said wait till my 36 week growth scan and then I have another call with a consultant where we will decide dates. My only advice is be honest with how you’re feeling and stick to your guns with what you want. Xx
