Medication early pregnancy

Hi guys! I’ve been diagnosed with HG at 8 weeks pregnant and was in hospital for a week but is now under control with medications, I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with the medication Ondanzetron? The hospital gave it to me to take home and it has been really helping my sickness but they forgot to mention that it gives baby small risk of cleft palate syndrome! Not very happy they didn’t tell me now I’m worrying! Thank you 💜

Hey! I’m currently 19 weeks and I have the same ! I was in hospital with HG and I wouldn’t be able to cope now without ondansatron! The other medication that is incredible is Xoneva which is specifically for pregnancy sickness! I understand your concern around cleft palate however it is such a small small risk that I feel it’s worth it for the help for the sickness ! Hope you feel better 🤞🏻💕

I’m also the same, I couldn’t keep anything down from 8 weeks onwards without it! I’m currently 13 weeks and still have to take it. The benefits of making sure yourself and your baby have enough food and drink outweighs the risks cause they’re so small! Some doctors explained to me that they’re not sure if the risk of cleft palate is due to HG itself or the medication, please don’t stress!

One of the scans coming up they check cleft palate. Can’t think what week it is but I waited until then to take meds for HG x

Hey I took that from 8 weeks! We weighed up the incredibly small increase in risk vs the risk of problems with me being so sick and not eating or drinking and felt that posed a much bigger risk! They will check palate at scan also xxx

I took it from 7 weeks. The risks are so low and my baby was born completely fine and healthy x
