Sick or reflux??

Silly question from an anxious FTM how do I tell the difference between a a normal amount of baby sick, and reflux? Past few days my 3 week old has started to be more fussy after feeds and quite burpy/sicky. I don’t know what a normal amount of sick is, and whether his cries of discomfort are normal, or could be reflux? I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing but it’s all so overwhelming 😢😭

My little one has been same I spoke to HV she said as long as they aren’t projectile vomiting and bringing up all their feed and haven’t got a temperature, not going off food then they probably won’t be poorly. I think my little boy has reflux though as he is fussy and being more sicky but it’s so hard to know what to do for best isn’t it! I’m trying to make sure he’s winded better and if no improvement in next few days I will take him to drs for some advice xx

I think my little girl had abit of reflux so giving her infant gaviscon and she's so much better today. She's been so unsettled, didn't like lying down, arching her back when crying like in pain, alot of hiccups and sick ups. If in doubt go drs and get some of the infant gaviscon and see if it helps. Don't give the full dose tho just start off small doses and see if it helps. I know it can cause constipation.

It is more than likely reflux expecially if little one seems in discomfort, best to speak to a HV, you can go to a local baby clinic and see them there. When it comes to telling the difference between reflux/spit up and sick, when a baby is sick it's projectile and covers a large area or even up walls. My son has CMPA and had horrendous reflux x
