Stick with it, day 1 was the messiest for us! The first 3 days were messy to be fair, but definitely saw improvement in that time, and I'm sure you will notice some improvements by day 3 roughly if she is nappy free all day 😊 hang on in there 👏
I agree with Francesca, as soon as she starts going put her on the potty to finish on there, every time even if she doesn't make it. :)
Thank you all for the words of encouragement😅
It gets easier 🙌 but it is a messy few months I have to admit 😂 x
Don’t worry. We started with sitting on the potty for a few minutes once per hour. Now we’ll ask and usually she’ll say yes or no. However she seldom initiates going to the potty with prompting. Hopefully we’ll get there soon.
How often are you encouraging her to go on the potty? I think the recommendation is every half hour to an hour… my daughter has been potty trained since August but find reminding her the potty is there still really helps even to this day she gets distracted so easily and lost in play… and also if you can take the pants out the situation for a few days… go bare bum… also we didn’t do this but I’ve heard others use stickers and give one for each wee on potty can either stick on potty or paper
@lanny I’m asking her to go like every 10 minutes but still haven’t had one successful wee🤦🏼♀️ we have a sticker chart as well. I have ditched the pants for most of the day. I’m starting to think she’s not ready…
@Savannah why did you start potty training in the first place? She may well not be ready but assume she was given you signs for you to want to start This is key :) It’s day 2 I wouldn’t give up just yet 👍🏻
@Francesca I noticed so wasn’t peeing as frequently in her nappy, she was starting to try to take it off and she was telling me when she was doing a poo. She managed to do a poo and a pee on the potty today and only one accident (as opposed to 11 yesterday🥴). I think she is holding her pee as she doesn’t want to do it on the floor but isn’t confident going on the potty but since we had progress I will stick with it
@Savannah improving already :) Ours was the same he hated the potty but then got used to it. We never forced it - clicked on his own time.
we nearly gave up day 8 - wee and poo on the floor it was a disaster! Well he was great at nursery but come the weekend it was carnage. But now week 3 he asks to go potty and he’s 2 next week :) we stopped accidents in week 2. Stick with it! Routine is key and 100% commitment. Just re-read you started today? She’s learning! I wouldn’t give up. Totally normal! Every day you will get better. Get a potty book, potty toys, stickers - make it fun to go potty and get excited when she goes even if a drop!! You need to follow her around and stick it under her once you see her going, She will get it eventually 👍🏻
