So the hospital itself is very old but the birthing centre is a separate wing and the newest facility in the city - definitely check it out, it’s such a fresh vibe compared to the rest of the place! I had my son there a few weeks ago and had a positive experience all things considered (despite having a pretty complicated and looong delivery). Labour stretched over two days so I had my OB one day plus another for the delivery… and met many of the nurses, some were literal angels who helped and guided us so, so much!
I am going to deliver there with my midwives and they are pretty positive about this hospital. St Joe offers free tours in their Birthing centre, you can come and visit prior to delivery and see yourself
I did recently and the nurses were amazing. No concerns at all.
I had my second baby there, and it was a very good experience, the staff was super fast and kind, I gave birth in 3 hrs after arriving there. They were super busy that night, so they didn't have a semi private room available and I had to pay for the private one. ( Not a big difference, but that room was very noisy). The meals are bland, and very light in my opinion, so get food from home or order take out, they only have a second cup inside the hospital.
I did twice and both teams were amazing to be honest so careful so nice to me and babies and husband . I will go back with my eyes closed
