VBAC

Hey guys! Just found out I’m pregnant with baby #2. I’m definitely wanting to attempt a VBAC this go around if I’m deemed eligible. My first pregnancy I was induced (due to my husband being overseas and I did it so he could for sure be there). The induction was a fail and baby was in distress. I had an emergency csection and it was a horrible experience. I felt so much, so they ended up putting me on stronger meds to fall asleep. I’m not quite sure what would not qualify me for a vbac other than my weight.. I never lost my weight from my last pregnancy and my BMI is sitting around 36🥹 Any similar experiences? Was your VBAC successful? I am looking forward to my appointment in a few weeks to discuss with my obgyn!

Also my last birth was Dec 2022 and this baby will be due July 2025

Risk factors that may affect how eligible you are, are: What kind of scar you have - low vertical/transverse scars are fine but classical high scars are not eligible. Previous uterine rupture Other uterine surgeries (fibroids) More than 2x c sections Less than 12-18 months since last delivery Requiring an induction (GD/ preeclampsia, growth restriction etc) High BMI

Hey there ! So i had my first in april of 2021 (c-section), second in december of 2022 hbac , then twins june of 2024 vbac . I guess all i can say is know your risk and find a supportive provider. My second and third pregnancies ( single and twins ) were both spontaneous labors at 41w and 40w3days. The first was an induction at 41 weeks. In a wrap im praying for you and just wanted to let you know with God anything is possible ☺️

@Becca I am also praying for a VBac, the only think is high BMI, is there anything that can be done to help that?

I just had a VBAC 3 weeks ago! If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them about my experiences!

@Krys congratulations. I had a C-section July 2021 and because of fear put into me I had another at 2022. I will like to try a vbac on my next baby next year. Do you think I will qualify and as a woman who is age 34 do you think she be considered? If you don’t mind sharing pls don’t be offended, how old were you when you birthed your twins

I had an unplanned section, due to failed induction, with my LG in January 2023. Due our 2nd in December 2024 and I was a candidate for VBAC, despite having a BMI around 35. Assuming you’ve no other major risk factors (uterine rupture, multiple sections etc), you’ll likely be a candidate for a VBAC but the odds of a successful VBAC do reduce with a higher BMI. Your midwife with likely discuss you options with you at your booking apt (UK based) and refer you where necessary x

@Jusyna 25 ,27 and one week shy of 29 with the twin delivery . Ik some doctors term anything after 35 as a geriatric pregnancy but this should discourage you from trying. This is what your body wants to do instinctually. Be open to the idea of an emergency section should you need one . My twins had to be delivered in the OR just in case .
