Feeling Like a Lazy Mum..

My 2 year old still drinks her bedtime milk from a fast-flow teat and I’ve only just researched about what type of bottle she should be using, and finding out that she really should not be drinking from a teat anymore and should be on a sippy cup. I feel awful, she has a lisp and one of her teeth sits a little further back from the rest and not that I think either are bad or worrying things, I blame myself for not weaning her onto a sippy cup at bedtime. She drinks water from a sippy cup during the day, and is excellent at drinking from a cup like you & I do, but at bedtime it’s still the baby bottle and now I feel awful 🫠

Don’t feel awful. They advise it for teeth problems. My friends son had a dummy until he was 3-3.5 his teeth were curved into a dummy shape. Literally within 6 weeks they had realigned .

We still use mam bottles with a teat for milk because he won't drink it any other way, also has a dummy. Don't beat yourself up about it 🫶🏼

@Gilly oh wow that makes me feel so much better - how incredible is that?! my daughter still has her dummy for bed time and long car journeys but we are determined to get rid of it in the next 6 months x

@Jess My Mum bought her a new bottle for water and she’s refused it - I’ve just spent £30 on 2 new bottles for her age and I will just get rid of the other bottles so she has no alternative and hope it works 😭 My daughter also has a dummy for bed time still x

I wouldn’t blame yourself! My daughter still has milk every night and morning in a fast flow tommie tippee bottle and her teeth are absolutely fine. Might just be how her teeth were going to be anyways!
