As above, there’s no correlation in being able to collect colostrum and being able to breastfeed. Education on what to expect from breastfeeding (such as knowing that colostrum is all they need for the first few days, how to get a good latch, how to tell baby is getting enough, cluster feeding etc) is probably more important x
This was me! After I gave birth it came in no problem so don't worry about it. I'm EBF no issue so far touch wood 🪵
I didn’t manage to collect in either pregnancy, but successfully ebf both. My eldest ended up in the special baby care unit immediately after birth and I felt awful I hadn’t produced any to give him. He’s fine, he breastfed fine. There really is no need to worry xx
Not a single drop of it before baby was born but I successfully exclusively breastfed for a year (would have been longer but personal choice to finish at 1 year) x
Never produced a drop and successfully breastfed for 20 months when my little girl decided she wanted to stop :)
Don’t worry honestly. I had to have an emergency c section at 35 weeks when I was in recovery i got my colostrum then.
Please don’t worry! Many many women can’t collect colostrum until after the birth. The release of hormones when the placenta comes away is what gets the milk properly going. Not being able to collect colostrum antenatally does not in any way mean you won’t be able to breastfeed.
