Car journeys

Hi, my 4 month old little girl just does not tolerate car journeys longer than 20 mins. She started off rear facing in the back which was terrible for my nerves as she would cry I’ve had to pull over multiple times to calm her and give her a hug. She’s now in the front with me as I have isofix in the front but it’s not much better… has anyone been through the same? Have any tips?

Hi, I had this with my little boy, he made himself sick a couple of times he was crying so much if I was on my own driving with no one in the back. We started playing the white noise machine which did help but tbh he just grew out of it. He’s 6 months now and is now great in the car. So keep going! I know it’s awful but as with everything it won’t last forever. You’re doing an amazing job ❤️

No real advice but I must admit I've considered hanging a tablet/phone with dancing fruit on as I can't go far at all with my 4 month old boy. My limit for him right now is 30 minute journeys and I really try make sure he is due a nap or sleeping as we set off. I don't remember my other 2 being so bad. It's awful to listen to and awful for him. Let's hope they outgrow it asap!

No advice just wanted to say my little one is the same. We introduced a mirror that helped a little bit, and she has her toys. But she literally just HATES being in the car. We're going to change her carseat this month and see if that helps. I'm not sure if the motion is making her feel unwell or something? My other kids have travel sickness but we've never experienced this before!

My girl (5 months) is very hit and miss with the car! Sometimes she's perfectly fine and will sleep the whole journey, other days she's awful and will scream the entire time 😑

My baby is exactly the same and almost a relief to hear others are experiencing this! Everyone I've mentioned it to says how weird it is because 'all babies love cars'...I think it's just the being on his own mine hates though as he is absolutely fine when someone is sat in the back with him...hoping he grows out of it soon as it really limits what I can do with him in the week when my husband is at work as it makes me feel so anxious!
