Not walking- almost 18 months

Our little boy still isn’t walking as yet, he is almost 18 months old. He will pull to stand using furniture and crawl etc. He can’t stand up on his own without leaning onto something. He can’t stand up independently from like the middle of the room like other kids younger than him. He can only walk using his walker or holding onto our hands. Getting so worried about this as we are getting closer and closer to the later months. Raised with HV and she said they won’t refer him to anyone about it until 21 months but for us that doesn’t seem that far away! Anyone in a similar position?

I could have written this! My boy is 18 months on 23rd November and he’s doing exactly what your baby is doing but he has started sitting to stand for a couple seconds before he drops! Praying he gets there soon - they’re showing all the signs it’s coming. As long as your baby is hitting other milestones I wouldn’t worry ❤️ Feel free to message me! Xx

Exactly the same here as well with my son! Praying he starts walking soon, feel like every day he is getting closer, just hoping it’s sooner rather than later! No advice I’m afraid but I’m in the same boat as you xxx

Our little girl literally just started walking ❤️❤️ just makes you appreciate it more when it happens! They all just do things in their own time try not to worry xxx

It might be worth seeing if you can get him referred to a physio to check the strength in his legs etc. I know of a boy that was late walking and his parents had him checked over he was ok. With a lot of encouragement he did stand independently and he did walk it just took time. Try and encourage cruising using one of his favourite toys

My lo just started walking but hv wouldn’t see me but told me to get gp appt just to check everything over she just checked hips length of legs etc it may be worth just booking an appt yourself for peace of mind

Last few weeks my little girl has took of with her walking and she 18 months next week. She walked holding my hand or a walker for ages. she still can't stand up on her own without holding onto something but it will come eventually.
