My advice would be to prioritise it. It’s absolutely not too late to start, but you definitely want him to be fully trained by the time he starts school. Choose a method and stick with it (we used the “Oh Crap!” book and it was brilliant). Clear your diary as much as you can. It’s a lot of effort to stay at home for a week or so (and it’s boring!) but it is soooo worth it x
@Michelle thank you THANK for you this x I’ve just got the book. We did day 1 yday so many accidents he just wasn’t getting it. But did tell me he was wet but was too late for potty or toilet.going to persist with it again today. It’s only when I put him on the potty he did a wee but I’m guessing this is what potty training is helping them to learn and teach what it’s like not to be in nappies etc
Don’t worry at all! The first few days were awful for us too! But my son was fully trained within 10 days, then decided 2 months later he didn’t want to wear nappies at night either. He’s hardly had any accidents and think that’s because the method is so simple. Keep going, just make sure you have a nice tray lined up at the end of each day… chocolate/ ice cream/ wine/ a nice box set! Good luck x
@Michelle thanks so much lovely for replying. Day 2 was much better he finally just went and sat on potty to wee this was every half hour but was so proud of him just got to be persistent Thanks so much and any advice much appreciated
Yes it’s hard there is alot of pressure with it I find especially this age it’s expected to be cracked by now
