Teething??

Hi everyone! My little girl is almost 5 months old. She was up at 4am this morning and was really difficult to settle back to sleep. She does sleep through the night now for the past month or so and doesn’t usually wake for a feed until 7/8am and is exclusively breastfed. This morning I’ve noticed a little white dot on her bottom gum. I’ve attached a photo but do you think this is early signs of a tooth? Or could it be something else? Has anyone else experienced this? There’s not really been many other signs of teething I’ve noticed. She’s been putting her hands/fingers/thumbs in her mouth since about 4 weeks old and ever since. She’s been a little fussier for a while now in terms of not wanting to be put down and crying if she can’t see us etc. Thanks in advance xx

It looks more like an Epstein pearl to me, which are totally harmless. The first teeth are usually the central ones and you’ll be able to see them in the gums/cutting at the top x

Yeah her first teeth will be the middle 2 so probably an Epstein pearl. My baby has one on his top gum.

Hi sorry, I’m no help but just wondered how the actual f**k you’ve managed to get your ebf baby down for a full night

Yeah that’s not a tooth. The tooth you’d really see on the front of the gums too before it actually breaks through. Could just be baby learning something new.

@Neets haha I honestly have no idea to be honest! I think if she feeds really well in the day and in the lead up to bedtime, we do her bath, a feed and then either falls asleep during the feed or after a burp and a bit of rocking.

My baby girl has the exact same in the same place too! She’s been chomping down on everything and anything and getting really frustrated if she can’t!
