Positive induction stories?

I’ve been telling myself I want to be in the birth centre this whole pregnancy but now seems like it’s not the case. Are there any positive induction stories? I can only think of the ones wher it’s really painful etc so would be nice to hear of some successful ones

It is painful but equally I liked being induced, I felt empowered having my date, not waiting around , no wondering would baby come today to be disappointed. I was induced at 38 weeks for medical reasons and I chose to see the positive side. Don’t get me wrong it was tough but I’m ready to go again in 5weeks

I had 2 naturally started labour's then 2 induced labour's and I prefer the induced tbh They aren't any more painful (just no slow long drawn out start in my case) 1st induced labour was just over 5 hours, 2nd induced labour was 29 minutes from start to finish!

@Heather wow Wow 5 hours from pesiry or from waters breaking? Xx I’m going again in 5 weeks so would love others experiences

I class mine as a positive one! It took a while to get going but I wasn’t in any pain, just chilling. Mine was my first baby though so I had no comparison for pain but I managed on gas and air! I’d heard all the horror stories too but it was positive for me!

@Ashleigh 5 hours from pessary to placenta delivered! 2nd time I was 1cm dilated and they could see the sac so they broke my waters rather than using the pessary and 29 minutes later I delivered the placenta! My first 2 deliveries that started naturally were also fast (almost didn't make it to hospital with 2nd) hence my 3rd and 4th being induced as the hospital I had to go to was further away

I was induced with my first using pitocin. They started the drip and just under 4hrs later my baby was in my arms. Compared to my natural labour (2nd) yes it was more painful but it’s harder to compare as my first was also sunny side up and not doing well so we needed other interventions to help with those things. My second just kinda slipped out with a few pushes, he wasn’t sunny side up and I didn’t have back labour 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Heather That’s amazing. I was 38 hours from pessary to placenta! Hoping my second will be quicker.

@Ashleigh what method of induction did you have

@Heather 29 minutes sounds like a dream lol, is it true when it’s quicker it’s more intense as well

@Naimah yes I went into shock after as it all happened so fast, I wouldn't want to do that again for sure

@Naimah I went in on a Monday and had the pessary, that wasn’t painful at all to start with. I just chilled and read my book. Luckily I only needed one as I think they said it can take 2/3 to get things going. the pains started like bad period pain and I had to wait to go to the birth suite. Once I went I was 2cm and they broke my waters, then I was out on the drip. I couldn’t handle the drip and had an epidural that was fab though I had a sleep then was ready to push - I felt all that part haha

@Sharnee my first was back to back and I ended up having a drip too so idk what to expect compared to that

@Heather ohhh sorry to hear, was the healing and everything okay

i had 4 kids most recent as of august but i had to be induced with all 4 and i got the epidural every time knowing how bad it gets but i got the epidural early on my last one since i learned if you aren’t holding still it’s harder to get it in right spot. last one was my favorite. i slept a lot. and epidural eased pain cause its true induction makes it a lot more painful

@Ashleigh how long did it take from when you had the pessary to when you gave birth

@Hannah do you find that the epidural gave you back pain Afterwards

@Naimah yeah had no complications no pain relief felt fine once the shock wore off lol

My induction was great. I had two gels first at around 10:30AM, the second around 4:30PM, then my waters broke naturally at 9PM , started properly labouring around 11PM and my LO arrived safely at 7:25AM the next morning with just gas and air. I was induced for being 2 weeks overdue so I think that helped as my body only needed a gentle nudge but it was a really positive birth experience.
