GD Mum elective c-section

Does anyone know how soon you get to book your c-section and if it’s earlier due to the GD? FTM who’s anxiously navigating all these new changes and it’s exhausting. Being a pin needle 13 times a day with blood glucose checks and insulin injections is over taking my brain!

They told me no less than 38 weeks x

@Georgia thank you! ✨

I was told 39weeks

I was told 39 weeks as my GD is controlled via Metformin, I believe it's 38 weeks if your on insulin and they'll let you go to 40 if it's fully controlled by diet and baby is all good size etc. I'll get a date at my 36 week consultant appointment. Every trust seems to be slightly different though xx

They have told me 38 weeks as i’m on metformin and insulin 🙄 we are booking in for our section Monday 🩷

Thank you ladies! they skipped metformin on me and I’m just on insulin…. Interesting. Currently on 10units and being monitored closely. Oh the joys of pregnancy + gd ✨

I was told 39 weeks, as I am on Metformin. I have my 36 week scan next week and will be booking my elective c-section at that appointment x

I was told they will try to keep for 39 weeks but they are monitoring me and will change plans if needed of course. Don’t worry - you got this! The uncertainty is hard for sure. 💛

I’m on Metformin and Insulin and have been told 37-38 weeks but will be decided after my 36 week scan in a few weeks, and will depend on baby’s growth ect
