Eating Habits (breastmilk to formula fed)

My LO is 9 months and is now formula fed. She has been eating on average 20oz of formula (plus 3 solid meals). I feel like 20oz is not a lot. And that's 20oz including what we give her in the middle of the night. Her mouth was bothering her, but now seems to be fine. Do you think 20oz is fine? Should be eating more? Her doctor says it's fine, but she gave me a different number a month ago and seems flippant about it.

It’s less about the number and more about if she’s maintaining her growth curve. With 3 solid meals though, it doesn’t seem like an alarming number though.

I agree with Kate! We give formula bottles in the morning with breakfast, one at nap time, and one before bed. Ours usually eat 6-8 oz per bottle and are eating solids 3-4 times a day and have watered down juice with meals As long as they are still growing you should be ok! Teething can cause a little one to drop down their formula intake because they want something to chew on instead or it could be slightly painful to suckle on a bottle.

My doctor said by 12 months he wants to see us at under 24 oz of milk. Right now she hovers between 23-27. But it’s normal for them to take less and less milk as we increase solids. I think for now 20 oz is perfect! Right on track

My doctor said that he should be having 16-20 oz per day and eating more real foods
