Can you tell me if he was being unreasonable

For the first few months of our baby’s life, overnight, I would lean over intermittently overnight to check that our baby was breathing normally, when I woke up. My husband would belittle me for doing this, saying “I mean look at you” for example. Things like the Owlet exist - suggesting to me that it’s normal to check on your baby’s breathing. He has a child from a previous relationship and I understand that the baby was in a separate room from birth.

I have an almost 6 month old and I still check to make sure she's breathing 😂 ignore him and do whatever you need to do to bring yourself peace

My son is a year old sleeping in his own room since 4 or 5 Months and I still check that he’s breathing

My son is 5 years old and I still check up on him.

I check on my nearly 3 year old! Perfectly normal.

I use to sleep with my glasses on so that I could instantly see when I looked over at the baby 😂

Thanks all - it just seemed very unfair, as I was just naturally wanting to check that our baby was ok.

Dude, our baby slept next to the bed and I slept with my face right next to hers. In the beginning I’d stay up to watch her sleep (first kid and this legit made sense to me at the time 🤣) belittling a baby’s mom for being concerned about their wellbeing is wild…

my daughter is 2, we sleep in the same bed as it’s just us two (we live at home with my family, not enough space etc) & i STILL check her breathing when i get into bed or if i wake up in the middle of the night!

I have a 13 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old. I check on them all before I go to bed and when I wake up in the night for the toilet, I check them again too 🤣
