Potty training help!

My little one started potty training yesterday and seemed super keen to start, but didn’t go once on the potty. She was seemed to hold it in and then when I wasn’t looking would wet herself, then get really upset with the mess she’d made. She’ll happily sit on the potty and ‘try’ to go, but when she actually needs it she seems scared to sit on it. Does that make sense? She has woken up dry this morning, has drank half a cup of water and has been sitting on the potty now for 15 mins…holding it in I think! I know it’s only day 2, but any help would be great! Thanks

I’m in literally the exact same situation 3 days in. We’ve only had one successful pee and 2 poos on the potty. Yesterday i waited 2.5 hours for her to pee🤦🏼‍♀️ I think my daughter isn’t quite ready. We’re going to keep practicing sitting on the potty when home and going nappy free and just wear a nappy out. Not sure if it’s the right approach but🤷🏼‍♀️

I hear you, wish someone would tell me what the right thing to do is! We’ve had one success this morning, but I think she’s holding it in again. She seemed so keen and ready the last few weeks ☹️

My friend said her daughter tries to use the potty every night before her bath. I’m thinking about doing something similar until she’s more confident and then we will try to fully commit

We started potty training my son this week but for about a month we would take his nappy off after dinner so he could get used to it. He was never interested in the first potty we got him but when I got the travel potty he only wanted to use that one. Maybe try doing an hour a day with no nappy on so she gets used to it

Thank you both. We’ve had 2 wees on the potty and no accidents but I think she’s holding it in at the moment.

I’ve not personally tried this but seen a few things online about giving A cup with water and a straw and telling them to blow bubbles apparently tricks them Into peeing ? Can’t preach it but might be worth a shot my wee one hasn’t properly started but will run around pant less and grab a pull up in panic when she needs a wee bit much the same upset when having accidents so I thought I’d wait till December and try again so I’m not pushing her if not fully Ready and upsetting her x
