Elective C-section or try for natural Birth?!

I’m due in April and have been offered to have an elective c-section if I want one as my first birth, I had to have an emergency c-section! I’m currently in no rush to make a decision. I’m waying up the pros and cons haha! As when this baby is due I will have a just turned 3 year old, which we will also need to sort out. So basically just seeing what you would choose if you were in my position? I know at the end of the day it’s up to me and my partner but I just thought it would be nice to see other people’s options and why! Xx

I’ve opted for an elective with baby 2 again so I can organise childcare for my toddler. Plus my baby is due Xmas/nye so low staffing and bank holiday issues aside, it’s just less stressful to know what to expect for us as we have no family in the country or village xx

I didn’t have a choice but if I did I’d have still opted for elective I’m not going through all that for it to end up being traumatic again 🫣 so I want a bit more control and to enjoy the experience a bit more.

If I decide to have a second baby I have already decided I would have an elective planned C-section. For me the idea of another unplanned slightly emergent C-section is more anxiety causing then just going into it with a plan!

I did op for a elective c after my first c section but baby had other ideas I wanted a natural birth once the labour ad started but yeah Dr's and my body ad other idea so end up with an emergency c section to which turns out I could of gone with out if the checks would of been done right

Hiya, I was also very worried about what to do. Baby was showing up as big in my scan so the consultant told me I should probably have another Csection due to complications! My next scan, Baby was on the right scale and 'normal' size, so was then told by a different consultant to try for Vbac. I decided to go for it although still a bit worried not knowing the outcome, but glad I did, as balloon induction worked well, leading to waters being broken, contractions starting, oxytocin drip speeding things up to pushing Baby out, the whole time baby and I was being monitored, they were ready if anything were to go wrong. Hope this helps 🙏 xx
