@Hannah she’s having gaviscon in her bottles for her reflux
If it’s silent reflux gaviscon won’t really help unfortunately, infant gaviscon effectively just thickens the milk so it’s harder for them to bring back up. Silent reflux is linked with acid and usually babies don’t vomit hence the name. My little girl has silent reflux and it’s taken months to get her dosing of omeprazole right so that she can comfortably feed, we’ve had issues for 4 months with her barely drinking and it was all pain related x
@Jade oh I didn’t realise there was a difference if I’m honest! Seeing the gp again Tuesday so I’ll mention this, thank you!
We had this problem lo is also on this milk and was having gaviscon. Drs stopped the gaviscon and prescribed lanzoprazole as my lo was so constipated from the gaviscon and was barely reaching 20 ounces in a 24hr period. Since we stopped the gaviscon and he’s been on the other medication he’s been better. Hope this helps. I know how frustrating and worrying it can be when they won’t take their bottle.
@Leah I’m glad he’s doing better now, it really is heartbreaking seeing them so uncomfortable🥺 this is exactly like my little girl, she’s been prescribed laxatives as the gaviscon is making her so constipated and some days only taking 10oz😩 will definitely mention the switch from gaviscon to omeprazole/lanzoprazole! Thank you for sharing x
Could it be silent reflux?
