My son used to be a runner. We’d take him to the playground and he would loop round the perimeter or gather sticks and leaves and line them up. He had speech and fine and gross motor delay. He would make patterns with everything. It was more noticeable when you saw him with other kids his age.
👋🏾let me start by saying I have 6 kids. know my oldest is 21, 14, 12, 11, 9, 3 🫣🤣but with all of my kids, I never seen Autism not family nor friends. My sister has a disabled son He’s 19. And a twin. That’s the only form of disability I've seen up close. Now my three-year-old he did everything early, he had four teeth by five months started at three months. He started rolling over 3months at about 4-5months crawling at the same time. between 15 -18 months I start to see a change I knew because of the difference between all other five kids. and all my cousins niece and nephews and Friend kids. Everybody was normal including him up into that point. I didn’t know what it was. It was standoffish from other kids. It was the pattern lining up bottles whatever object he can find he was lining it up. He loves stuff that rolls bottles whatever I said something is wrong with my baby. This is not normal.
They will tell you it's normal. But you know when something is not right with your child. Especially if it doesn’t change. Doctors go to School to learn about it. But as mothers living with it, most of them don’t even have kids.
Key things at this age are delayed milestones, noticeable differences in social skills etc. But really it's too young to know. Toddlers will all show some signs to some extent but it's actually a normal part of their development.
