Ours does this too!!! She will cover her ears and go “it’s too loud!”. Blender, baby sister crying and even sometimes some noises that wouldn’t seem “too loud”. I even brought it up to the hearing specialist at the hospital for our baby’s newborn screening but she just said to the GP 🤷🏼♀️
Have they not suggested gromits for the fluid?
@Mel s no they originally wanted to see us in 12 months time but we contacted them again and said we weren’t happy with the person we saw so could we have a second opinion. They agreed they should have seen him sooner and now seeing us in Jan so will see if it gets brought up again at that appointment
@Louise we have t tried ear defenders no. It can be so random during the day to different things so I’m not sure if it’s something more or just development
@Kate it’s hard to tell isn’t it. He also keeps saying he is dizzy which they told us could be linked to his hearing loss
@charlotte that's disgraceful it's not been dealt with yet
@Mel s I know! We had to wait 18 months for a follow up hearing test as the last one he was full of cold. My husband chased and chased was told in the end he needed to send a letter from the dr outlining how this is effecting Henry’s day to day life…. Anyway we didn’t do that as we felt there wasn’t much impact and then 5 months later my husband found an email address for the admin team sent them and email and then within 12 hours had a reply saying we had an app the week after! I was half fuming and half happy we finally had an app! Henry keeps getting ear infections and we keep getting antibiotics for them as calpol and Nurofen doesn’t clear them and with his history we can’t just risk it and yet they won’t do anything 🙄 x
Our girl doesn’t like loud buses / tractors when they pass or loud singing (happy birthday at parties) but happily listens to music, plays her drums loudly and doesn’t seem bothered by other noisy environments (soft play, nursery games etc) etc. She wore ear defenders for the fireworks
My little one has started complaining that the traffic is too loud on the way home from nursery. Tbf he has a point 😂
I literally could have written this. My little girl has become very sensitive to certain noises, electric toothbrush is also one that she doesn’t like. We did take her to her GP and waiting on audiology referral as so hard to tell if it’s behavioral or not. Have you tried ear defenders? In certain situations with loud music for example they really help calm my little one down x
