Bottle recommendations???

We used Tommee Tippee but switched to mam bottles but they are so shit I hate them. The only thing I like about them is the teat shape. Any bottles that use the same teat shape?

I thought the teats fit in the Philips advent bottles

Dr browns. I used tommee yippee but my second didn’t get on with them. Dr browns have a wide teat and a narrow teat to choose from 😊

@Emmo it’s only the shape I like, I hate the actual teat cause it pours out like in the video 😂

@Sophie ooh I’ll have a look thanks

The flow has to do with the test size. We use the 0 and the flow is definitely not like this!

@Emily oh I see, that is the only one with that shape that I know of. Ours has never poured out though

We tried TT and Mam and he couldn’t get on with then. Have since switched to NUK. Different teat shape.

I use mam bottles and have never had this problem with them. Has the test split at the end?

What number test is that, we use a mam 0 and it barely drips let alone pours out

What size teat is that? I’ve used mam for 4 of mine and never done this but would in size 3 as it’s fast flow

@Mish yes, we have to squeeze the 1s to get milk out to see if it's not too warm

Hated mam too! Try dr browns or BIBS, those are the ones I use

@Mantha it’s only teat 2 and it certainly shouldn’t be like this still, when we “fix” it it’s much better

@Lauren no they are reasonably new 😭 no split, just shit 😂

@Jodie number 2 teat, they’re just awful 😩

@Mish 2, 0 would be too slow for our boy

@Emily this happens to me sometimes with the mam bottles so I googled it. It’s to do with built up pressure from the steam/heat in the bottle. Something to do with the air vents being at the bottom. Give the teat a bit of a squeeze to get the pressure out and try again it should work fine. I’ve been doing this every time I make a bottle just to be sure and haven’t had this issue any more. Hopefully works for you and worth a try so you don’t have to get rid of your bottles!

It’s nothing to do with the teat size. We’re still in 0 and it still happens.

@Babs yeah we squeeze it, bend it, suck it and sometimes it fixes but it’s still a pain in the ass! Shouldn’t have to do it 🙃

I have lanisloh, I also tried NUK and Tommee tippee. These are the only ones that baby will accept, also really easy to clean, hold etc.

@Emily have you tried a 1 or is there just a big jump between the 1 and 2? Tbh we use the man glass bottles so they don’t have an air vent so maybe they behave differently

@Mish no we were on 1 for tommee tippee I think but then switched bottles and the HV recommended upping the teat as he was taking too long to drink his bottles

@Emily it might be worth trying a mam 1, or a different mam bottle that doesn’t have all the stuff going on in the inside. For reference we use a 0 and glass bottles. It doesn’t pour out, we don’t have to faff with them and given the chance my daughter can drink a 120ml bottle in less than 5 minutes.

@Mish yeah im definitely considering changing bottles completely before I throw one through a window 😂

@Emily 😂

If the water / milk is a bit too warm it will squirt out. Might be that (if that’s warm washing up water?).

@Hollie it’s warm enough for baby to drink and it still happens :(

No idea then….. Mine don’t do this. We have just moved in the last couple of days to size 2 (she is 3 months adjusted). Although actually similarly don’t love the bottles, but my baby is used to the fattened teat and won’t change to another.

@Hollie I have used the Mam teats in a Phillips avent bottles once when I forgot a bottle part at someone's house. Considered getting a few for when I can't be bothered with all the parts

Thanks. That’s a useful tip
