Doesn’t respond to name

@Shay Aww ur son is doing amazing, I guess each baby is different. I do use his name a lot! That’s why am surprised. He never responds to his name. He only responds to “here” because he knows it’s associated with food🤣 Does your son say Mama to you ? or can he point to things?
He recently started saying mum but not to me, just runs around saying mum mum mum. He doesn’t point and rarely follows my point, he doesn’t wave or clap either. He has his own version of waving which is just flapping his arm up and down and clapping is flapping both hands up and down on each other🤦🏽♀️🥴. Pointing he isn’t anywhere close to even trying that one and is nowhere close to associating mum with me or saying other words. My son does have very stubborn moments though where if he doesn’t want to do something, he just won’t🤦🏽♀️. The fact you said your son rarely responds to his name means he has responded in the past? If so then he at least does know his name and maybe just doesn’t want to respond. When you say “here” to him put his name after it, so he will slowly hear the two together and get use to his name even without “here” being put in the mix. It will come slowly
Well your son is doing a lot more than my son! My son does respond to his name but he doesn’t do any of the other stuff you mentioned.. he don’t talk or gesticulate. He will share food though (usually once it’s been in his mouth). Do you use his name a lot with him? I call my son a lot, initially it started when I would tell him no, I would say his name before saying no and then say hello to him using his name. I think after doing this for a bit it just clicked in.. now he will knows when I call him I’m usually trying to give him something so he will always turn or come (expecting treats🤦🏽♀️).
