If you give formula before bed for a longer stretch you'll hurt your supply. You need to take milk out every 3 hours to keep up. So even if baby sleeps 5 hours you'll still need to pump.
Its tough now but it will get easier and your body will adjust. She could be going through a growth spurt and cluster feeding. I agree it shouldn’t hurt to pump. Check your settings and your flanges. The wrong flange size can lead to pain and possibly supply issues and even mastitis later.
@Amanda thank you! I think it’s hurting as I’m so sore from her being on me constantly :( I breast fed my son for 6 months and never had this issue it’s draining me! X
First thing i’ll say is it shouldn’t hurt to pump so I would check you have the right size flange and that you’re using the correct settings for you the ones that make you feel comfortable. Also around this age will be massive growth spurts and they will feed what feels like 24/7. It doesn’t last forever and is normal so you don’t need to top up. Do you have a baby carrier? I used to feed my son in the carrier to help feed with one hand just supporting him a little and also co sleep so that I could feed him while I slept overnight. x
