Help with crawling? Or a reality check?

Hey all! My kiddo is 7.5 months and can sit on his own, barrel rolls like a champ, but has zero interest in even attempting to crawl. Doesn’t want to even attempt to assume the position. I’m trying to increase tummy time and entice with toys, I’ve tried using my leg to help him put weight on his arms, a cushion, etc, but he prefers to roll after the things he wants 😭 it’s very much giving Baby Race from Bluey and I just would love someone to either tell me this is okay and/or give advice to help him? He was found to be a little behind at his 6 month well visit (he was unable to sit and would not do a supported stand so we got a motor delay label), which is when they finally diagnosed a cows milk protein allergy and we got him on the right formula. At his follow up visit a few weeks ago, they annotated that he was caught up developmentally (he can sit and prefers attempting to stand to literally anything else), and they seemed super happy with that and so was I, buuuuut I worry. Help please.

Babies typically start to crawl between 6 to 10 months of age, although there’s a wide range of normal. Some babies may start crawling a bit earlier, while others might take a little longer or skip crawling altogether, going straight to standing or walking. Each baby develops at their own pace, so it’s normal if your baby doesn’t follow the exact timeline! Relax mama. He’s doing great!

Hi! My little girl just turned 8 months and she learned to sit up at probably 6.5 months, but still to this day she has zero interest in standing or crawling, her OB said that all babies learn at their own pace and to not worry my niece didn’t crawl or stand still almost 1 year old. I know some people say it’s not but in my opinion and her OB’s all baby’s learn at their own pace, my baby girl rolls after everything as well I wouldn’t worry mamma, what I’m doing to help her her more strength in her legs is her bouncer, walker, tummy time, but overall I wouldn’t worry

My baby is 7 months and was preferring to roll over too. I started propping her on her knees against the edge of bed on the floor to build her leg strength (she just seemed like she couldn't hold her weight up) now she's getting in crawling position by herself and going backwards.. still doesn't have forwards down - she automatically goes to frog legs when attempting to go forward. But small progress after I had been practicing her getting use to her on her knees

My son just turned 8 months on the 1st. We had no interest in crawling until like 2 days ago! Now I’m constantly trying to launch the camera on my phone hoping to capture the moment! In the last 2 days we went from 0 interest to so incredibly close! We also suddenly have crossing hemispheres by banging toys for the first time, reaching for the left hanging toy with his right hand and even reaching for a toy bag and digging through it for a toy he wanted! As I’m typing this he’s in his activity center and using his feet to move around to reach the toys on the other side! He was doing NONE of this a couple days ago! Just stick with it! Keep showing kiddo the way and practicing. One day something will click and your kiddo may blow you away! You got this Momma!

My baby girl is 7.5 months and she has showed 0 interest in crawling. She hasn’t even slightly attempted it. I’d say as long as he’s mobile in other ways and trying to progress in other physical ways you should be fine. My baby loves standing so we’ve been working on that. I think it’ll just come naturally eventually

Reality check for sure. Babies developmental milestones can turn on a dime. One day they have zero interest in doing something, and the next they have taken off and you can’t keep up. As others have said, your baby is still on the mid range of normal.

My son is 7 months & rolls & scoots wherever he wants to go. He’s gotten into the crawling position a few times but he just falls face forward. I’ve tried to help but he’d just rather do it his way. He’s more interested in pulling himself up right now anyways.

I feel so much better reading all of these responses! Thank you all so much 💜

My girl loves to crawl and can't sit up on her own yet ❤️
