my midwife said to me if you don’t get any signs if labour within 48 hours of the stretch and sweep it was unsuccessful and to have another done
I wouldn't ever have again, I ended up having latent labour for 48hours (obviously can't prove it was from sweep but a big coincidence if not) They statistically aren't proven to be effective if you aren't close to labour anyway, so if you can just wait it out x
Nope 👎🏻
I had one at 40 weeks and was 1cm then at 40+2 was 2cm ( I lost my mucus plug during these days, waters broke 40+5 so not sure if that helped but was definitely worth a try. Was a little uncomfortable but didn’t hurt and there are a few risks.
I had one at 2:30pm....by 6:15pm my waters broke. I was 39+6 weeks
I had a sweep at 4pm and was in labour by 11pm the same day 40+2 weeks x
i had one at 39+5 and went into labour at 40 weeks i went to the hospital around 11:30am got told to get walking about get some food to see if things started moving on there own as i was already having 3 contractions within 10 mins if not they was going to induce me but luckily i had a cervical check done at 3:25pm ish and they broke my waters at 3:30pm and instantly the pains got worse and came more regularly and my baby was born at 8:39pm same day
