Rash after giving wheat

My 6 month old tried weetabix today for breakfast and within half an hour this little rash appeared on his face (pic in comments), would you consider this a reaction? He is teething too so I don’t know if it’s the wheat or the teething! He is acting fine in himself

To me it looks different to my daughters allergy rashes Maybe cut it for a few weeks and try again although it's not necessarily wheat my daughter reacted to barley in weetabix but is fine with wheat so keep that in mind too

@Emma-louise ah okay thank you! For my own piece of mind I have sent the photos to the GP anyway just to double check, I thought you can never been to careful😄

Yes I totally understand my girl has 5 allergies and everytime she has anything new even now I'm watching her like a hawk You could also post on eczema and allergies I think its called

I would say *probably* a reaction but you would want to continue to offer it to be sure. If the rash spreads or gets worse, that's pretty conclusive. But yeah would need to trial wheat in other forms in case it's a different ingredient.

@Ella I’ve spoken to doctors this morning 😊and they said to cut out for 6 weeks and then try again so hopefully in 6 weeks we shall see, they said a possible reaction too

What did you mix the weetabix with, normal milk? If so are you sure it’s not a milk allergy x

Talk to your dr lady 💜

Looks similar to when my little boy had an allergic reaction last week, the rash covered his face, mostly around his mouth. Leave it some time to try again and if another rash, blotchy skin etc appears contact your dr again to have an allergy test as there seems to be a long waiting time (6 months wait for my son and his paediatric dr is trying to bring it forward sooner with it happening with several things). Also keep a note of what was included e.g. milk, brand etc.

@Natalie I mixed with his formula milk that hes been alright with so I didn’t think it could be xx
