Confused about when I can work out again

I had my c section end of July. During the discharge process, one doctor told me I couldn't do any exercises like weight lifting, swimming, jogging etc for at least six months and to just walk and do pelvic floor exercises. Another person said to wait at least 6 weeks pp. My GP said to wait until my scar is the same colour as the skin around it to do more than walking and pelvic floor exercises. Wouldn't that take years? A friend, who had a c section 12 weeks ago is doing yoga and I'd really like to do baby and me pilates and join her for yoga. What have other people been told when they could work out again? Mine was an elected section. I lost more blood than expected but didn't need a transfusion. Otherwise there were no complications

6 weeks pp check up, they should generally sign you off. I think it’s quite individual though in terms of listening to your body and knowing when you’re ready :)

6 weeks. I was back at yoga (mummy and baby classes which I HIGHLY recommend) at 6 weeks and slowly jogging again at 8 weeks. I ran a half marathon again at 5m post partum. Mine was a cat3, no issues or complications and my scar healed really well. By 11m it had vanished completely tbh.

7-8 weeks is when I went back to the gym for strength and conditioning/weight lifting. 6 months pp and doing 120kg dead lift, still slowly working my way up. Agree with @Chloe about listening to your body. Yoga and Pilates sound fun, I reckon you should give it a go, with caution ofc 🤙🏽

6-8 weeks I believe is recommended. I’m 6 months pp and jog and use kettlebells

Someone I know actually started training for an MMA fight 12 weeks after he section, myself personally could just about go for a walk without being in pain at 12 weeks post section, everyone is different

Listen to your body and try it out. You don’t lose anything and just take it at your pace.
