New baby
How long did it take your older child to transition to having a new baby in the home? My son is 2 and the last two week with his new sister being here have been horrible. I know he’s going through a lot with the new ‘normal’ but I’m just not sure how much more I can handle 😞

We’re 6 weeks in with my 3 year old and it’s only just getting better. It’s been brutal.
@Bonny I feel like I’m sufficiently traumatized already 😅😂 I do take a shower every evening even if it has to be quick so I can be alone for a minute. I knew this would be challenging but goodness, nothing could prepare me for this.
@Hopeful 😮💨 I never imagined it would be this hard. All I kept hearing is going from 1-2 kids was easier than 0-1 and I just don’t believe that
It’s been almost 2 weeks but my daughter has been really good. We did talk a lot about being excited for the baby before hand tho and she is being really careful. Although there are moments that she gets jealous

The whole first month is rough. The second month is also very hard, but once you've been through the first month, you're sufficiently traumatized and it doesn't seem that bad by comparison. Try to take some extra showers or go on a kid free errand here or there. Taking those moments for yourself will help you be a better mom for both of them.
