Biting

Is anyone else having issues with their little ones biting? I’m really struggling with what to do. This is mainly happening whilst she is at school

Yes! It's so upsetting. My little girl only does it at home. I've asked nursery and it's never happened there but it started after she was bitten by another child. I keep saying no and telling her off but she seems to be frustrated and doing it out of anger and frustration. She has got better as her communication improves.

Yes! Nothing we do is working to stop him from biting my husband and I and also occasionally his friends at nursery. Apparently it’s developmentally appropriate for them to bite to regulate their emotions until they’re around three years of age 😷

No biting (yet) but keeps slapping and kicking when he’s frustrated 🙄 seeing it reduce over the last 3 months but no sign of stopping 😞

I used to have a biter but he’s luckily grown out of it but he did it for a long time due to sensory regulation. We just talk a lot of emotions and show him how to safely express them and talk about gentle hands/being kind etc. It seems to have sunk in. It’s a phase that will pass xx
