What would you say is ‘normal’ potty training age

Not specifically when your LO potty trained, just what you think is the norm?

I'd say 2-3 years old

@Abbie they're usually not potty trained at all and are being watched for cues and taken...which is an okay start but not trained It's 'normal' to start 18 months minimum and to be completely day trained by 4. I started my first at 3.5 with immediate success and my second at 2.5 which took longer but she was still ready

Exactly like @Peer95 said, I started training my first at 18 months and my second now at 15 months. And at this point all it is, is setting them on the toilet a couple times a day to help them build understanding. My first was day time potty trained at 3

@Abbie i’ve just learned the nursery starts at age 2 and they won’t accept the kids unless they’re potty trained 😅

We've just done it at nearly age 3 with the support of our nursery. I tried at 2.5 and he just wasn't getting it.

I just think when it’s ready we got our girl a potty just after she turned 1 not even to start teaching her just letting her sit on her used to it etc x tbh she’s now almost 3 and taken to it like a duck to water no accidents poos fine on it we don’t nap her anymore so she literally wears one to bed and that it x I think you will no when your kid is ready x

I worked with toddlers and potty trained a whole bunch. Between 18 and 30 months tended to be best; I only had a couple ready before 24 months, most ready a little after, around 27 months. Tried to have it done before 30 months because for most kids past that point it becomes a situation where they can do it but are choosing not to, I only had 2 that were genuinely not ready by then.

A nursery shouldn't expect a 2yr old to be potty trained! The preschool my daughter goes to starts at 2 and they will change nappies or assist with training

My son was potty trained by 2 years old. I started training him about 21 months. But yes alot of preschools for 3 year olds require them to be potty trained including nap otherwise they remain in the 2 year old class to work on potty training.

Any age before they start school. All mine were over 3 when they potty trained.

@Hessa did they not start school at 3? x

@Nikki it’s the 2 year olds they expect to be potty trained here 😅😅

No, in Canada school isn't mandatory until 6 but most kids start in junior kindergarten when 4 at the earliest. Unless they are put in a private preschool. Here in Algeria school starts at 6 years old, there's no kindergarten here.
