positive induction experiences?

so i'm currently 40+6 and had an induction booked for 2 days time, my midwife has just phoned to say there is a bed available for me to come in tonight instead so i decided to go for it. i've already been contracting regularly since 12:10am on saturday morning so hoping this will speed up the process? so so exhausted from the contractions so i'm praying for a fast and easy induction. i've been very much against getting an induction and the thought of getting one absolutely terrifies me because ive barely seen any positive experiences with them. pls share any positive experiences below or advice to put my mind at ease thank you, im extremely anxious 🙏

Hey babe, I was terrified, same as you. Can anyone go with you? Take some sugary drinks, remember to breathe and it will be over before u know it. I prayed when I was in a lot of pain and scared and I also kept reminding myself it was a temporary situation and I would be home soon. You can do it! You got this!!!

Lucozade sports are really good. I wasn’t allowed to eat so only could drink these. They kept my energy high for majority of it.

Hey sending you love and all positivity your way❤️

My story is a bit hard so i won’t go into all the details but from the time i was put on pitocin to when i delivered was only 5/6 hours. Granted i was already 5cm dilated before i went on but it went by suuuuuuper fast. The contractions i will say were very painful BUT the way i look at it was because it was so fast i really was only roughing it out for about 15 minutes before i had to push. My overall experience on it was pretty alright and i did like knowing that i was going to have a baby that day instead of being worried about contracting for days with potentially no end in sight. I totally believe in you you got this :) (also the luigi’s italian ice is like a godsent and i munched down on sooooooo many of those while i was on the drip. idk why but it made the pain way less but maybe it’s because im a whore for food 😭)

Hey! I had a positive induction, so I was 40+2 in hospital for reduced movements, was offered stretch and sweep and accepted this which took me to 2cm, they then offered me balloon catheter as they said this may dilate me further (it did not) and it fell out, however 2cm was enough to have my waters broken as they didn’t go naturally, after them breaking I was offered hormone drip, which I declined as I wanted to wait for my body to go into labour naturally as I have heard the drip ramps things up super fast, and the last think I wanted was to be in loads of pain suddenly as it wouldn’t have felt a calm experience. Because I’d allowed myself to relax after them breaking (used birthing ball, drank lucozade, had some snacks ect) my body went into labour naturally and I dilated further to 5cm from then I needed gas and air which took me to 7cm and then I had a pain relief injection in my leg and then baby crowned, the only thing I needed was an episiotomy which wasn’t major xx

I ended up labouring for 7 and a half hours which was quite quick for my first. I honestly would highly recommend hypnobirthing, having a focus or something to stare at or squeeze (almost broke my partners hand lol) whilst you are contracting was a godsend for me, as women our bodies are designed to do this so never feel like you CANT as you totally can, and as another person commented, it’s a temporary situation it’ll be over before you know it and you’ll have your beautiful bubba in your arms❤️good luck❤️
