Sorry that was a lot I didn’t realize but I hope you find it helpful
@Yaya yikes! Thanks for your response. That was very helpful. I will definitely be ready to go with the flow. Hubby isn’t that type of person, so Hopefully he’s okay with the hiccups lol
@Yaya no it was very helpful, thank you!
Make sure you choose a flight that works with his sleep schedule and also bring items that make his schedule run smoothly so he isn’t fussy. We did Mexico for my LO first birthday in July and I don’t know if it was because of the hurricane that just hit, but there was very minimal AC. We only had two personal size fans 🥴 We made sure to bring his cot and sleep pod cover however, he ended up sleeping with us because of where the fan was located inside of the room . Depending on the weather, your little one may drink more milk or water. We are anal so we brought our own water to make sure he didn’t get sick . We used these . Just freeze it to get it through the airport https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B65Q284Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_l8eLiqpk4XTah Other than that if you haven’t already I’d start weening him off formula so all you have to do is bring milk and not formula.
@Q thanks so much! This was sooo helpful! He’s still breastfeeding. This was amazing advice!
@Rach that’s perfect! When I was breastfeeding I fed in the plane on the way up to help with the pressure change and on the way down. Normally this was soothing enough and my LO slept the whole plane ride. At 1 he was def more active so we had to figure out ways to entertain him when he woke up. I did combo feeding so it was easy to start milk (we do pea milk) with my LO. I’d reach out to ebf moms and your doctor to see how to start milk.
Antigua is beautiful, I went two years ago and it's very baby friendly but NOT STROLLER FRIENDLY 😂 cobble stone everywhere!
My husband wasn’t go with the flow at first either but we realized fast we’ve gotta be flexible in our plans and just make the best of everything. You’re going to have a great trip! Post an update here after & let us know how it goes ❤️
@Susie that’s what I’ve read also. Thank you for that reminder!
@Yaya haha will do thank you!!
I’ve traveled a lot with my little boy in the states and abroad and I have to say 1 years old can be a bit challenging because they don’t want to sit still anymore 😂. Bring lotsss of snacks and lots of extra diapers just in case baby eats something that doesn’t agree with him and gets the runs. Make sure you have stuff to keep him busy look up airplane toddler toys on Amazon and bring all his favorite books. You may want to travel with your car seat as well. We started bringing ours when traveling abroad after going a couple places and renting cars from companies that didn’t have car seats or seats that were too big too filthy etc. Overall I’d say just prepare to go with the flow traveling with a one year old you may not make it to every dinner reservation or everything you have planned. Good luck mama!!
