Multi cultural schools

My son is starting to feel a bit isolated as he is the only black boy in his year group. A bit of bullying and name calling and he is now starting to ask me to send him to another school šŸ˜¢. As much as I donā€™t want to move him on those grounds. Iā€™d like him to have friends and people to play with that he feels comfortable to be himself. He seems to not feel comfortable to be his self currently. Can anyone recommend some decent schools that have a healthy cultural mix in the Tottenham / Wood Green area.

Hi, I just wanted to say that my daughter went through the same issue but we were in a school in Surrey at the time. Iā€™m actually shocked that this is happening to your son in the Wood Green area and itā€™s such a diverse, multi cultural community. My daughter went to Bounds Green primary school and she loved her time there. We then got a place at Woodside secondary school and it was horrid so we left London and moved to Surrey for her education. She was the only mixed race/black kid in her school bar one other black boy. She got name calling etc and we finally reported it as a hate crime & got the police involved and it stoped straight away. I donā€™t know of any good school in the area you as asking about, to be fair all the schools in that area arenā€™t that great. Butā€¦I would definitely take whatā€™s happening to your son very seriously and take it up with the school and take it further if they donā€™t take it seriously.

Sorry to hear this, has he only just started reception in Sept aswell? May I also ask where, as this shocks me for these areas.
