@NoelI’m having a boy soon and I was told that cheerios are the best to practice peeing 🤣 you just put them in the toilet bowl and they have to point at them lol
@Florencia bahahahaha that’s great!
We started at 17 months 2 weeks and my son is doing great! Self initiating pee and still working on the anxiety around poop. I read Oh Crap! Potty Training and it's been super helpful. I had a feeling he was ready before we started, but wasn't sure I was ready. Third day in and I was certain we were on the right path. He's so proud now 😊
From experts that I’ve read about so far, everyone says to initially train boys to pee sitting down. They’ll be able to do it better and gain the autonomy quicker, then once they’ve mastered the timing and idea of going in the potty, they can take the next step of standing! My son is 20mos old and we’re planning to start after we get back from a trip in a couple weeks!
@Chelsea “Oh Crap! Potty Training” is an awesome book that I just read as well! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to potty train their little one and looking for some good advice before starting! She’s an expert in the area and has potty trained THOUSANDS of little ones and works with them and their parents all surrounding the issue of potty training! So she knows her stuff!
I’m thinking about it! She can tell me when she’s using her diaper about 50% of the time, but Im not sure if she’s quite ready yet.
Were potty training over here. She gets the concept but communicating that she has to go isn't there yet. So we have a timer to take her every so often. some days we barely have accidents, others it's almost all day. It also depends on if we're busy tho. We live 30 minutes from town so she normally has an accident in the time it gets to anywhere.
I’m the same way. I’m at least practicing with him telling me “poo poo” and putting him on the toilet to hopefully help. My struggle is teaching to pee and poop lol. I feel like it will be easier to teach him to sit down to pee and poo. He already has the hang of wiping. Good luck mama!
