Formula constipation

Any tips on newborns struggling when formula is introduced Our LG is 5 weeks and was wanting a feed every hour so HV said it might be worth doing 50:50 formula. Worked well and she goes 2-3 hours…. But she poops once every two days and is not comfortable at times I feel bad for causing discomfort to her, but will it get better?

My little girl is the exactly the same, goes 3 days without pooing and seems in discomfort. Every few days I give her a bottle of ready made formula which is a lot thinner and seems to go straight through her x

Following this as my little one is experiencing similar

Were there any weight concerns? If not then there wasn't really a reason to add the formula - sounds like baby was cluster feeding to up your supply. Of course if you were struggling with the frequent feeds and needed that extra relief then that's absolutely fine 🤍 formula is harder for babies to digest than breastmilk so it absolutely can take time for them to adjust x

Yer she dropped 9% in 48 hours when we got discharged so they needed me to get more milk in her…. Which she wasn’t doing. Kinda sucked as I can’t keep up now with making formula pumping and breastfeeding One thing I have done today is switch to ready made formula which has defo helped. We are going to use that with BM for 3 days then start weaning onto powder formula

Has anyone tried to give infacol? Just bought some and I’m curious x

I use infacol every feed x

Also, not sure about anyone else but I’m trialling my baby on the aptamil “comfort” - to see if it makes any difference with poo’s/colic. Most midwife’s were kinda non commital answer wise when I asked if it was with a shot - a lot said it’s just marketing but as I read some good reviews I’m gonna see if it makes a difference. Does anyone have experience that it does? Thanks :)
