Reflux?

On a night my 4 week old wakes in thee night for a feed. I nurse him, and then if he still appears hungry I will offer him a bottle. I burp him after he has been on each breast and then during the bottle and after. He generally then falls asleep in me in cradle, but as soon as I transfer him to his next to me, he starts grunting and writhing around moaning, generally with his legs pulled up. He doesn’t cry but he sounds very uncomfortable. I try to settle him and rub his tummy, but eventually I have to pick him up. After a few cycles of this he eventually settles straight away when I transfer him. Is this reflux? He has never been sick.

Are you offering a bottle of formula or breast milk? Combi feeding can give some babies a funny tummy. It sounds like that might be what’s bothering him. My son does the same and eventually settled after a poo or burp

My son does the same sometimes too, I think its just wind.. we've been giving little man gripe water occasionally and it seems to help him x

No I’m giving only breast milk, direct or expressed from the bottle. He can’t have formula at the moment because his blood calcium levels are high and the drs are trying to figure out why. I’m feeding him sitting upright, burping him multiple times through feeds and afterwards. As I say he seems to be able to settle on me after a feed, it’s just when I put him on his back in the next to me and not every time, and generally only on a night. I’ll have a look into gripe water, thanks!
