Yeah. Alone too, twice. (Plus several other flights alone, totally about 10 or so round trips, my son will be two in January) Don't fly Jetstar under any circumstances - the stairs at Melb airport are too rickety to carry a baby down. Virgin and Qantas will both let you have priority boarding if you ask at the gate on the day. And at the end wait and disembark at the front of the plane, not the rear. Take lots of snacks and fidget toys. Aim to fly over nap time. Take an iPad preloaded with movies. Don't let them see it before or after, it's a flight thing only.
Oh yes fly with virgin 100% they are great
I’ve also done England when he was 22 months old, it wasn’t too bad at all
Thanks all 🫶🏻 I feel much calmer about doing this and saving money!! Any other tips you may have happy to hear this is our first flight
Wow thanks so much!!! Such a big help
I’ve done it to England, bring a carrier and as soon as you’ve taken off take them up the back and bounce them to sleep (the airport usually knackered them out), bring snacks and toys, download their favourite bluey episodes on YouTube (you can download to watch without data) You’ll be sweet 🩷 no difference them having their own seat except the $
