Baby still doesn't clap hands

My little one still doesn't clap his hands! For months now he's waved his arms around and hovering his hands like he is going to but never actually claps them together. If we do it for him he absolutely loves it and smiles and laughs about it but never does it himself. Is anyone else in this same situation?

Yeh 😂🫣 my boys has hit every other ‘milestone’ as such but still will not clap. I asked my HV at his review and she said some babies just don’t clap🙆🏼‍♀️ I’ve give up trying now 😂xx

Do they bang two toys/ objects together? x

My boy was like this for a while until one day he just decided he could do it himself! Just keep on showing him and clapping hands he will get it eventually 💙👏🏻

@Yasmin he will bash a toy into a surface to make a noise or use something like a drum but not normally two toys in separate hands bashed together

Mine did 2 days after walking. It's probably not far off! Still not pointing though Keep doing what you're doing and sing if you're happy and you know it, wind the bobbin up etc. I also showed him to "hit mummy's hand" ie a high five and once he got that we did it several times a day and he was clapping within the week. Irritatingly he did it when I wasn't there after my partner practised with him literally one time and I had been working on it the whole summer (was start of September) 😅 but I got the first wave and first steps ans first "mamam" to be fair. OK I was there holding him for the first wave but it was to his mirror image 😅♥️ first time he waved at a person it was his daddy tbh😅 so we both got the wave in a way
